Award of the Order of the Star of Italy

Ambassador Mauro Massoni, on behalf of the President of the Italian Republic, has awarded Sr Teresa Marcazzan, Director of Paulines Publications Africa, the accolade Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy . This honour, which is the second highest civilian honour of the Italian State, rewards those who have acquired special merits in the promotion of friendly relations and cooperation between Italy and other countries, and in the promotion of ties with Italy.

In the grounds given for the award, the Ambassador recalled the activities of Paulines Publications Africa, the quality and quantity of publications, their contribution to culture and the achievement of the African Bible in various languages.

So writes Sr Teresa: “I thank the Lord, the Congregation and the community, because this recognition goes to all the Daughters of St Paul in Kenya and in Africa. Alone I would have done very little, but with the grace of vocation and the collaboration of the whole community and Sisters of the Delegation, we have made great steps for the good of the Church and of the African people. I would also like to thank the Italians, who have helped us to develop this important mission in Africa. ”
